Bridge Over Troubled Water

When you're weary, feeling small
When tears are in your eyes, I will dry them all
I'm on your side when times get rough
And friends just can't be found
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down

When you're down and out
When you're on the street
When evening falls so hard
I will comfort you
I'll take your part
When darkness comes
And pain is all around
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down

Sail on silver girl
Sail on by
Your time has come to shine
All your dreams are on their way
See how they shine
If you need a friend
I'm sailing right behind
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will ease your mind
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will ease your mind

-Paul Simon
(Simon & Garfunkel)

A classic song, & IMHO one of the most beautiful
songs ever written. This song occasionally makes me cry.

I just saw S&G sing this on PBS when Paul Simon got the Gershwin Prize. Even all these years later, it still sounds great. I have their best of CD, which I play a lot.

I remember hearing this on the radio the day after 9/11. Not a good idea to bawl one's eyes out while driving, I can tell you.

Gaaa, I love this song! Have you ever heard Eva Cassidy do it? Her voice is so clear and beautiful, she does a wonderful job with it.

If you haven't heard it, email me via my blog and I can send it to you.

Thank you for stopping by, and for your very kind words. They made my day.
